Six JHMS Students Make All State Chorus
Sarah Ferrer and Elise McGilvrey, two students at John Hopkins Middle School, have been selected for the All State Middle School Mixed Chorus, Choral/Vocal Dept. chair Mr. Butts announced recently.

John Hopkins Middle School successfully completed all requirements for re-accreditation through Advance Education (formerly SACS). We were rated operational 6 out of the 7 standards and highly functional on standard 5-Resources and Support Systems. The seven standards are listed as follows: Standard 1: Vision and Purpose, Standard 2: Governance and Leadership, Standard 3: Teaching and Learning, Standard 4: Documenting and Using Results, Standard 5: Resources & Support Systems, Standard 6: Stakeholder Communication & Relationships, and Standard 7: Commitment to Continuous Improvement.
This is a huge accomplishment for all of the JHMS Stakeholders and we should be extremely proud. JHMS is truly a great place to be and we will continue to work hard to reach our Vision of Every Student, Every Day, Academic and Social Success. Two JHMS Drummers Make All County band
John Hopkins Middle School students Luke Nasworthy and Christopher Russ earned spots on the All County Concert Band, Mr. Allen announced Nov. 15. There were only six percussion spots for the band, and students from John Hopkins earned two of them.

Tardy Policy
John Hopkins Middle School is implementing a new tardy policy. This policy is being put in place so that we can make sure that your child is receiving all the instructional time that is necessary in order for them to be successfull. It is important to have a conversation with your child in regards to the importance of getting to class on time. For more information on our new tardy policy please click here
JHMS Modified Dress Code for 2013-2014
For the 2013-2014 school year, the dress and grooming of John Hopkins Middle School students shall be neat and clean, promoting a positive educational environment. Apparel that disrupts educational activities and processes of our school will result in the removal of the student from regular school environment until acceptable apparel can be secured.
¨ Pants (Slacks, Jeans, Capri's) Solid Color - NO leggings, jeggings, tights, sweat pants, stirrups, or holes. NOsagging pants or shorts
¨ Shorts or Skirts Solid Color—No shorter than 2 inches above the knee. NO basketball shorts. No pencil or spandex skirts.
